Jefte struck twice in the 3-2 round of 16 triumph, including the 94th minute winner. The result left Albacete defender and former Real Madrid player Jesus Vallejo in tears on the sidelines.
And afterwards, Jefte told Radio Marca: "The truth is, like you said, I was trembling, thinking a million things, but very happy.
"The only gap I saw was that one; I wanted to put it in the far corner so (Andriy) Lunin couldn’t reach it.
“When I saw it go in, I said… pfft.”
He added, "The coach told us that Albacete had never beaten Real Madrid and that today was the day, that we were the chosen ones.”
A statement that, according to Jefté, “touched our pride, and thank God we can tell the tale".
Jefte left the stadium a winner - and also Vincius Junior's shirt.
