West Ham told to go higher for Southampton defender Harwood-Bellis

BBC Sport says the Hammers wanted to take the defender on-loan for the remainder of the season.

However, Championship club Saints have turned down the proposal.

Harwood-Bellis, 24, is keen on the move, but Saints won't do business unless West Ham improve terms.

Southampton signed Harwood-Bellis from Manchester City two years ago for £20m.
