Former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been released from Como this summer and is now looking for a new club.

Alli could be poised to make a return to English football this season after Como announced that they and Alli had mutually agreed to terminate his 18-month deal, not even eight months after it was signed.

The 29-year-old managed just one appearance for Como before seeing his deal terminated and he now finds himself in the free agent pool that many clubs will be looking to dip into as the season continues to take its toll.

According to the Daily Mail, Birmingham City, Wrexham, and West Brom have emerged as the favourites to sign Alli who, despite his setbacks, is desperate to continue his career which has slowly gone down hill.

Dele has not started a game since February 2023 although he is determined, his injury record will put off a lot of clubs from bringing him in. A return to England could be good for the playmaker however, especially in the lower leagues where he has appeared for MK Dons in his early days.

Previously, Swansea City had been linked with an audacious move for the midfielder but it looks like that move is off the cards as the Championship side backed away from the deal.
