Currently, Spurs are winless in 2026 and sit one point above the relegation zone under interim boss Igor Tudor who has failed to turn the side around after taking over from Thomas Frank.
The 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Sunday marked their seventh loss in the last eight league matches as the club creeps closer to the Championship.
Reports claim former Spurs boss Pochettino is among the frontrunners for the job if Tudor does depart.
The Argentine spoke on the links this week and was asked if he had been asked to return to North London and revealed that the club has been in contact in the past.
“Not just Tottenham,” Pochettino told L’Equipe. “Other very big clubs too.
“I miss the football scene in England. I love the country, its culture, the football culture.
“For anyone with a competitive spirit who wants to measure themselves against others and test their limits, it's the ideal place. Here, you have to give your best constantly.”
Ahead of the Forest clash, fans sung the name of Pochettino next to the Son Heung-min mural. They made their feelings clear about a possible return which could happen once he is done with the USMNT at the World Cup.
