Rohl emerged as the leading contender to replace sacked Russell Martin, but talks broke down last week as the Scottish side moved on to former manager Steven Gerrard, who pulled out of discussions in what was a crushing blow.
Now, as reported by journalist Ben Jacobs, Rohl is ready to take the job as he prepares to replace Russel Martin, who was sacked some weeks ago.
“Danny Rohl is now close to being named Rangers manager. Credit to @Chris_Jack89, who first broke the news.”
Rohl successfully kept Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship despite the club's constant struggles behind the scenes, in what was an impressive feat that he caught the eye of the Rangers board.
Martin was sacked by Rangers over two weeks ago and as continue to worsen, the Scottish side are desperate to find a replacement and get the club back under control.
Rohl would be available to start right away and would take over a side whoo have won just two of their 10 Championship games so far this season and sit just a point above the relegation places.
