Birmingham City have released the first images of a proposed 62,000-seater stadium, with Tom Wagner outlining ambitions for a Premier League return.

It is expected to serve as the flagship element of the Sports Quarter project being led by the club’s chairman and co-owner, Tom Wagner.

The development that will also include a women’s stadium and various entertainment venues will have an estimated cost of around £1.2 billion.

Wagner claimed that the stadium will become a reality in the next five years and will include features like an interchangeable pitch and a roof that will close within 20 minutes, along with 12 chimneys.
