The club’s ambitious new stadium plans were announced during a launch event on Thursday and is to be developed by Heatherwick Studio and MANICA Architecture.
It is expected to serve as the flagship element of the Sports Quarter project being led by the club’s chairman and co-owner, Tom Wagner.
The development that will also include a women’s stadium and various entertainment venues will have an estimated cost of around £1.2 billion.
Wagner claimed that the stadium will become a reality in the next five years and will include features like an interchangeable pitch and a roof that will close within 20 minutes, along with 12 chimneys.
