Three Liverpool players are close to suspension as the side prepare to face Galatasaray next week.

Liverpool was beaten 1-0 by Galatasaray in the first leg of its Champions League round of 16 tie in Istanbul on Tuesday as Mario Lamina fired home a first half penalty to seal the win for the Turkish giants.

The Reds lost and have a monumental task to overturn a one-goal deficit in the second leg at Anfield next Wednesday where 3 players are at risk of being suspended.

As per UEFA rules, from the start of the league phase, a player will receive a one-match suspension after receiving three yellow cards.

Plus, a subsequent one-match ban is then awarded upon being booked five times and seven times.

Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones are all on two yellow cards meaning if they pick up a single yellow card against Galatasaray they will miss the next game if Liverpool progress.

Galatasaray will be without Davidson Sanchez for the clash after he was shown a yellow card late in their 1-0 win. The defender has started every Champions League game for the side this season and will be a huge loss as Liverpool try to take advantage.

Tuesday marked the 12th time this season that Slot's side have lost a game after conceding first and Liverpool will aim to turn the result around next Wednesday in a game where Galatasaray will not only be without Sanchez but also away supporters.
