Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has called on fans to make Anfield as loud as possible ahead of the Paris Saint-Germain clash.

PSG have one foot in the semi-finals of the Champions League thanks to their 2-0 triumph in the first leg at the Parc des Princes, where Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's secured a solid result.

Liverpool warmed up for Tuesday night's clash in a 2-0 win over Fulham as the team bounced back from a run of poor results.

Now, as The Reds prepare for a quick turnaround, Van Dijk has called on fans to make Anfield a fortress once more in what will be a tough tie to try and turn around.

"They (the fans) will probably be the most important factor, together with our performance.

"I've been very lucky to experience those nights where the connection between the fans and the performance has been unbelievable.

"We need something very special to happen otherwise we will have no chance. If we play like we did in Paris then we will have no chance anyway in my opinion.

"There is an opportunity on Tuesday to come up with a good game plan and fight for it for 90 plus minutes. I am really looking forward to it.

"It's a privilege to be in the quarter-finals regardless. We shouldn't take that for granted. We have to remember we are Liverpool. We have to make it a memorable night."

Liverpool are not expected to welcome any of their injured players back for the second leg but Alexander Isak could start the clash after returning from injury which will only make fans sing even louder as belief begins to grow in the side.
