Tottenham are reportedly readying a new deal for defender Micky van de Ven as a reward for his impressive start to the season.

Van de Ven, 24, has had a remarkable start to the season at Spurs, scoring six goals in his 15 games across all competitions. Not a bad tally for a centre-back.

That includes an incredible solo effort in Spurs’ 4-0 Champions League win over FC Kobenhaven on Tuesday (November 4).

The defender received the ball just outside his own box, going on to beat five opposition players on his way to scoring.

Now, according to The Telegraph, Spurs are keen on rewarding his fine form and tying him down to a new long-term deal.

Talks are expected to start later in the season with interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid understood to be increasing.
