The 32-year-old came on as a substitute in the 78th minute for Villarreal on Tuesday night in their Champions League clash against Tottenham was met by mass boos from Tottenham fans who jeered at him every time he received the ball.
Partey is charged with five counts of rape against two women and a charge of sexual assault against a third woman. Now, on Wednesday morning, he has pleaded as he appeared at Southwark Crown Court as reported by The BBC.
The report also states that the conditions of his bail do not prevent him from playing football, but he must notify police of any international travel 24 hours in advance and must not contact the complainants.
At the conclusion of the hearing, Judge Christopher Hehir told Partey: “Your trial will take place at this court on 2 November of next year, 2026. I appreciate that is quite a long way in advance.
"As you may appreciate, the crown courts have a huge backlog of work which means that trials do take a long time to come on. Because you have bail effectively you are sitting behind a queue of people in prison who are waiting to be tried.”
He continues to play for Ghana and Villarreal despite the charges put against him, meaning he may feature again this weekend against Osasuna as the La Liga aim to climb into the top four in the table.
