Tottenham Hotspur head into Tuesday's Champions League last-16 first leg with Atletico Madrid without 8 key players.

After finishing fourth in the UEFA Champions League league-phase table, Tottenham have looked like a completely different side in Europe compared to their relegation scrap in the Premier League.

Tottenham will go in search of a fourth straight UCL victory and a sixth clean sheet from their last seven in the tournament as they aim to defeat the Spanish giants who finished three points and 10 places worse off than Spurs.

Igor Tudor’s side will be hoping to reach the quarter-final stage of the competition for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign but will be without a number of key players ahead of the clash.

In defence Tudor is missing the likes of Destiny Udogie (thigh), Lucas Bergvall (ankle), Ben Davies (ankle) as he turns to Romero, Micky Van de Ven and Pedro Porro for support at the back.

Further up the pitch James Maddison (knee), Wilson Odobert (knee), Rodrigo Bentancur (thigh) Dejan Kulusevski (knee) and Mohammed Kudus (thigh) are also all out as Tudor desperately looks for solutions to rotate his injury ridden side.

Both sides meet for the first time since the 1963 Cup Winners' Cup final, where Jimmy Greaves netted twice in a 5-1 win for Tottenham in what will be an almost impossible result to replicate.
