Real Madrid will welcome Benfica to the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening following their 1-0 win the first leg thanks to Vinicius Junior’s 50th-minute strike.
The 15-time European champions have progressed from 22 of their last 23 knockout ties after winning the first leg and will aim to bypass the Portuguese giants after a tough first leg.
Real Madrid will enter the game off the back of a 2-1 loss to Osasuna, which has left them in second spot in the La Liga table as they aim to bounce back without a number of players this week.
In defence Éder Militão (muscle) and Dean Huijsen (muscle) are both out as head coach Alvaro Arbeloa turns to the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Raul Asencio and Antonio Rudiger to fill the gaps at the back.
Further up the pitch, Dani Ceballos (calf), Jude Bellingham (hamstring), Rodrygo (Tendonitis) are all missing in midfield as Federico Valverde, Arda Guler and Aurélien Tchouaméni step in.
The most shocking piece of news that has come out before the game is that Kylian Mbappe (knee) is also missing.
He is expected to rest for the next 10 days, missing Getafe on 2nd March at the Bernabéu and the trip to Vigo on 7th March in what is a huge blow for Madrid.
This is also a concern for France as they have a World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer and Mbappe may struggle for game time if the problem persists.
