The Gunners are set for their final away match of the UEFA Champions League’s league phase as they take on last season’s runner-ups Inter Milan at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Six points and five places separate the two sides, and a seventh straight win for manager Mikel Arteta’s side would represent an all-time best for the club in any UEFA competition.
However, Arteta will be without a number of players for the clash, including youngster Max Dowman (ankle) who was removed from Arsenal’s Champions League squad to make room for the returning Gabriel Jesus.
Dowman is set to be on the treatment table until February, Arteta commented on his injury earlier this month:
“With Max, unfortunately, he picked up an injury, so we did some scans, and he is going to be out.”
Dowman joins defenders Piero Hincapie (thigh) and Riccardo Calafiori (muscle) on the sidelines as they recover behind the scenes.
Calafiori was said to have sustained a “very awkward” injury in the build-up to the game with Brighton and will not travel with the squad to face Inter on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Hincapie was forced off in the 0-0 draw against Liverpool earlier this month, and his potential return date is currently unknown.
