Spurs enter the sixth round of Champions League fixtures in 16th in the table, with eight points from five games. The North London side are on a magnificent 22-game unbeaten run in home European matches and welcome Slavia Prague to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what should be a heated clash.
However, in this week’s press conference, Frank admitted that he would love to include Tel in his side, who is a player who has greatly impressed for Spurs in recent weeks.
Asked whether he had considered replacing the injured Dominic Solanke in the squad with Tel, Frank responded: “Ah of course if I knew back then what I know now I maybe would have changed the decision, no doubt about that.
"Of course it is something we can have into consideration if you can change one player, what is the timing and when is the other player back?
"It is also a decision in terms of some of the long-term injuries, when can they be back? And we also need players fit and available so we have enough players to shoot with from the bench.”
As announced by the club, Tel has been added to Tottenham’s Champions League squad and has replaced Solanke, who will be out until after Christmas.
Reports have stated that AS Roma are monitoring Tel ahead of a potential January loan move as the young forward seeks more minutes on the pitch, which may come now Frank has finally added him to his European selection.
