Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic is adamant their Champions League hopes remain alive despite a dismal defeat at Bodo/Glimt.

Inter lost the first-leg of their playoff 3-1, with Francesco Pio Esposito on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Sucic told Inter TV:  "I have to rewatch the match and try to analyze what happened.

"We need to understand the mistakes and not repeat them in the return leg. We definitely need to be more careful in  defense and more clinical in the penalty area.

"We can't make excuses; we're Inter and we have to give our all. In short, the pitch was the same for them and for us."

On next week's return-leg at the Meazza, Sucic added: "We have the return match at home, we have to try to stay calm, turn the game around and get to the next round."
