Paris St-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi says he is ready for the truth to come out as he awaits trial.

The 27-year-old has been ordered to attend the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine to face a rape charge which he denied on X this week.

"Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial, even though I deny it and everything proves it's false.

“This is as unjust to the innocent as it is to the genuine victims. I calmly await this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly."

A 24-year-old woman has accused the Morocco full-back of raping her at his home in the French capital in 2023 which the Moroccan international outright denies.

Hakimi's lawyer Fanny Colin said a trial had been ordered as Hakimi awaits for proceedings to start.

"A trial has been ordered on the basis of an accusation that rests solely on the word of a woman who obstructed all investigations, refused all medical examinations and DNA tests, refused to allow her mobile phone to be examined, and refused to give the name of a key witness," Colin said.

The Ligue 1 and Champions League champions will face Monaco in Wednesday's return leg of their Champions League knockout round playoff tie in a game Hakimi is likely to start as the French side aim to progress to the next round.
