Arsenal captain Bukayo Saka was hooked off on the hour mark following a disappointing performance in their 1-1 Champions League draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday (March 11).

Saka, 24, hasn’t quite been himself in front of goal for Arsenal so far this season, scoring nine and providing five assists in his 39 games.

The winger, who recently signed a new £300,000 per-week contract at his boyhood club, was replaced by Noni Madueke an hour into their draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

Madueke went on to win the penalty that secured Arsenal their draw, giving them a slight advantage heading into their home leg.

Speaking after the game, Arteta explained his decision, saying: "I thought that we needed something else.

"Noni has been contributing and being a real threat and I decided to make the change."
