The midfielder subsequently missed Chelsea’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday (October 18).
Now, Maresca has confirmed that Fernandez is a major doubt for their upcoming Champions League clash with Ajax.
He said: "Enzo had a small problem. A small problem that at the moment we are not able to say if he can be available for Ajax or not."
