Enrique said afterwards: "It's always difficult to play away from home, regardless of the team. Leverkusen are a tough team who are starting a new project.

"It's not the time to talk about just one player, but Vitinha is incredible . He constantly monitors what we need to do. He's an extraordinary player. Many criticised me when I started him as a number 6, but he can play anywhere."

He also said: "But today we have to talk about the whole team. We have to keep playing like this, which is very attractive to the fans. We have to keep going like this.

"It's difficult to see a team that wants to win everything. We still want to win everything this season. We've been confident since last year. Our goal is real and concrete.

"It will be difficult, because there are four or five teams at the same level. We're demanding, but we want to continue on this path. Before you win, you don't know if you can win. Today, in Paris, you know you can win the Champions League with PSG.

"The first is always the hardest trophy to win."
