Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has given reason why star player Cole Palmer was left out of Wednesday’s Champions League game against Pafos.

A late effort from Ecuador international Moises Caicedo saw the Blues overcome the visitors to boost their chances of finishing in the top eight.

Prior to the game, the manager explained why the England international was unavailable for selection.

"Cole has just missed out on this one. Hopefully he will be OK for Sunday's game at Palace,” Rosenior told TNT Sports.

“He picked up a tiny, little strain. I mean tiny. More of a fatigue injury, in the last game. We just want to make sure, at this stage of the season, that everyone is feeling good."
