Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's 'team' comments are surely a dig at Kylian Mbappe

Luis Enrique has transformed Paris Saint-Germain from a team of individuals to a squad of winners during his time at the club.

Enrique was only appointed by Les Parisiens three years ago, but a penalty shootout triumph over Arsenal was his second Champions League trophy in as many seasons.

The French giants became the first team since Real Madrid to win the tournament in back-to-back years to write their name into the history books.

Impressively, PSG won the Champions League for the first time in 2025 when Kylian Mbappe joined Real in the summer before. Mbappe has never been a team player, and his mentality has arguably rubbed off on his teammates in Los Blancos.

One catalyst for winning Europe's elite competition was capturing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli in January 2025, with the Georgian since developing into one of the best wingers on the planet.

It was Kvaratskhelia who won the penalty in the final for Ousmane Dembele to equalise, and speaking after the game, he emphasised the importance of playing for the "team" rather than himself.

"Even if I don’t get a goal or an assist, as long as I help the team… I don’t care. I play for the team, always," he said.

Kvaratskhelia's mentality is ingrained in this PSG squad, who have gone from owning players who are out for themselves to team players with an elite mentality.
