Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday night as they aim to lift their first European trophy.
Thierry Henry has said Arteta's squad will go down as 'The Unforgettables' if they can beat PSG whilst many fans will surely match the squad against the likes of the Invincibles if they do go all the way.
Mikel Arteta’s side have already secured the Premier League title, ending the London club’s 22-year wait for the crown, and now head to Budapest in search of the double.
Keown has revealed ahead of the game that if the side do crown themselves as European champions, they will be the best side in the club’s 140-year history.
“They’ll be winners, that’s what they will be - and that will do for me," Keown said.
“And they’ll be the first ever winners of the Champions League. So for me, they’re the ‘Number Ones’. They’re not just the ‘Unforgettables’ or the ‘Invincibles’. They’re the ‘Number Ones’.
“It puts them as number one, because no one else has won it.
“We’ve been disappointing in Europe. There was a Cup Winners’ Cup competition that fell through our hands. The UEFA Cup as well, Galatasaray beating us on penalties.
“So the club needs to now do something major in Europe."
Arsenal have carried the burden of being nearly-men for a number of years but after winning the Premier League, that title could be worn out as they aim for European glory.
