Ramus Hojlund is on loan at Napoli from Manchester United, and many thought he was mocking the club with his latest goal.

The Danish international scored a brace for Napoli to inspire a win over Sporting CP in the Champions League this week as he continues to shine in the Seria A, away from United where he struggled to the find the back of the net.

Hojlund's first of the night came in the 36th minute after he was played through by former Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne who also set up his second goal which he slotted in with his head.

The striker gestured towards the Champions League badge on his sleeve as he celebrated his first goal which sparked debate online as many believed he was mocking the fact that United do not have European football this season.

However, speaking after the game, Hojlund cleared up the celebration and explained that it wasn’t the case.

“It was the night you dream of, playing in the Champions League,” he told UEFA’s official website.

“I celebrated touching the Napoli badge because I’m happy to play here and the Champions League badge because I love to score in Europe.”

Meanwhile, fellow United loanee Marcus Rashford delivered another assist for Barcelona in their defeat against Paris Saint-Germain as stars continue to shine away from the club.
