Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed what annoyed him during Alexander Isak's debut for Liverpool.

The Sweden international was named in Arne Slot’s starting XI for Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid in what was an impressive start for The Reds considering his lack of game time this season.

However, after the game, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher questioned Henry about who he prefers out of Isak and Erling Haaland which annoyed the Frenchman as the pair spoke on CBS Sports

"There's one guy who can play on the left and the right, and then you have a goal-machine who lives in the box.

"In my day, in a 4-4-2 would have been brilliant to have them both, they're different players.

"I get annoyed when people compare an in-and-out striker with a guy who moves around. You can't compare them because they're two different players."

Isak completed a dramatic deadline day switch to Anfield for a whopping £125M, which puts a target on his back as each touch he makes will be analysed thoroughly. The comparisons with Haaland have already begun, and it is clear that pundits such as Henry will not be drawn into pitting the two against each other anytime soon.

The 25-year-old bagged 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle before transferring to The Reds on deadline day and could feature this weekend in the Merseyside derby against Everton, although he is likely to come off the bench for Hugo Ekitike.
