Germany international Manuel Neuer is not ready to retire, as the veteran goalkeeper is in talks to extend his stay at Bayern Munich.

Despite being 40, the former national team captain is keen to continue his career at the Allianz Arena

Reports say discussions have already started, with his agent, Thomas Kroth, meeting club officials to work on a new deal.

Neuer’s current contract runs until summer 2026, but both sides are considering an extension that could keep him at the club until 2027.

Since joining from Schalke in 2011, he has made 596 appearances for Bayern, winning 13 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies.

However, any new deal may involve a pay cut, as Bayern aim to reduce their wage bill. The goalkeeper currently earns up to €20 million per season, and the club expects senior players to accept lower wages to support long-term financial stability.
