Chelsea won 5-1, with Gittens being named man-of-the-match.
He said at the final whistle: "I think it was a good performance from me and from the whole team. We played well, got the three points and dominated the game, so that's the main thing.
"It's good. I'm still getting the hang of things, trying to adapt still in a new team and style of play, but it's going well so I'm pleased right now.
"Every day in training and in games, it's such a high level of football. There's no off day. It's just fun to be around all the players, working hard every day.
"Right now we're in a good position. We've just got to keep playing well, trying to score more goals to get the goal difference. Just keep going."
