Alejandro Garnacho has spoken on the Bayern Munich defeat this week which he says his side will bounce back from.

Garnacho was sold to Chelsea last month after being banished from the first-team in the summer by Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.  The Argentina international inked a deal with his new club until 2032 but is yet to start under manager Enzo Maresca who may hand him his chance this weekend against his former side.

The Argentina international was left out of the starting line-up by Maresca as Chelsea faced Bayern on Wednesday night. Chelsea had chances and weren’t totally outplayed by the Bundesliga champions however and Garnacho has spoken to the club website about how this is just the beginning of their European campaign.

“We will learn from this defeat.

“I think it’s just the first game, that's how we look at it. You always want to win, but it’s a long season and we have a lot of games (left) to qualify. The next two games (in the Champions League) are at home, so we have to take the full six points and keep working hard for our goals.

“I’m really happy to play for this club in the Champions League – it’s the best competition and everyone wants to play in it – but we are all a little bit sad because of the defeat. It’s a long season so we will be ready for the rest of the games and qualify.”

Garnacho made his debut for the club against Brentford before flying out to Munich to also make his European start for his new side when he replaced Pedro Neto in the 68th minute. The winger opened up about how he is settling in so far as he adapt to his new surroundings.

“I am still trying to get to know everyone, the manager and the players, but I am really happy to be here,’ he explained.

“I still need to get minutes and train. I think we did a good game, but Bayern are a very good team as well.”
