Ahead of tonight's Champions League clash at Juventus, Kavukcu warned Inter that Gala are still pursuing a deal for Hakan Calhanoglu.
Kavukcu admits they tried to sign the Turkey midfielder in January and will try again this summer.
He stated to Gazzetta.it: "We've never hidden our interest. He's an icon of the national team and a fan of ours. I don't know when, but I'm sure we'll see him play for us one day.
"We made another attempt (in January) for Calhanoglu. We discussed it with Inter's management, but we were told that Hakan wouldn't leave during the winter transfer window.
"We have a good relationship with the Nerazzurri, even if we haven't finalised any deals yet."
Kavukcu's comments arrive just hours after Inter were bounced out of the Champions League by Bodo/Glimt.
