Liverpool winger Luis Diaz will complete his Bayern Munich medical this week as he prepares to leave the club.

Liverpool rejected an initial bid of £58.6M from Bayern for the Colombia forward earlier this month but have since accepted a deal worth £65.5M with the German champions who were relentless in their chase to sign the winger who was always open to leaving the Reds.

Manager Arne Slot and his side have spent over £300M this summer already and this figure is still expected to rise after the sales of Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliot possibly still to come later this summer.

Diaz remains with the Liverpool squad in Tokyo currently, ahead of the friendly against Yokohama Marinos on July 30th but now Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenburg has confirmed that he will leave the squad to undergo his medical on Tuesday.

“Luis #Díaz will arrive in Munich on Tuesday, with his medical also scheduled to take place the same day.

“He will then sign a contract until 2029, with an option for a further year. FC Bayern are paying €70m as a fixed fee, plus up to €5m in potential bonuses.

“Agents Christian Wein and Raul Pais Da Costa from the agency AS1 played a crucial role in making the deal happen.”

Diaz arrived at Anfield from Porto in a deal worth an initial £37m in January 2022 and has scored 41 goals in 148 appearances. After Jamal Musiala suffered a horrific injury which means he will miss the first half of the season, Bayern went all out on Diaz and have now secured a world class winger who can help them defend the title.
