Napoli will no doubt have been studying the Manchester derby intensely over the weekend, as manager Pep Guardiola led his side to an easy 3-0 victory against Manchester United.
Serie A title holders Napoli are perhaps Guardiola’s biggest challenge so far this season and after a great start to the season which has seen them concede one goal and win every game so far they will be full of confidence heading into the tie.
Speaking to Il Mattino however, Di Canio has revealed that the Italian giants certainly have a chance against City who have already lost against Tottenham and Brighton this season.
"This is a great opportunity and we need to seize it immediately. From what we’ve seen in the first few games, they’re in disarray at the back. They’ve brought in a lot of new players, and when they lose the ball, they’re almost an amateur team.
“Before, anyone who went to play against City respected them, but now, even if City are up 3-0, everyone knows they can recover."
Manager Antonio Conte and his side will be looking to do what Manchester United could not and win at the Etihad Stadium. Napoli are yet to really make their mark in the Champions League and as former City star Kevin de Bruyne makes his way back to his old side this could be the perfect chance to show their quality and prove their worth.
