Cucurella finished with the man-of-the-match award after the 3-0 triumph on Tuesday in London.
He said afterwards: "I'm very happy with the performance – not only individually, but the team responded really well.
"We deserved this win and played with a lot of personality and controlled the game very well. This is a very important three points.
"I don't know, to be fair. This is football, maybe another time we'd face each other and it would be a different outcome. Today we played really well and I tried not to give him too much space. My team-mates helped me a lot, like Moises (Caicedo) and Trevoh (Chalobah). We're really happy – we put in a lot of effort and deserved this.
"We always respond really well in these kind of games. We need to improve our consistency in our other game plans. This season we've dropped points against teams in games that we should be winning. We work hard, we're always trying to improve and hopefully we can continue in this way because we're in a good moment."
On goalscorer Estevao Willian, Cucurella added: "I'm very happy for him. Hopefully he can continue in this way. He finally scored on his right foot! In training he always misses with his right, but today, in a big moment, he was able to score. He's really young and we need to help him, but he showed that he's a special player."
