Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says he will not say goodbye to Mohamed Salah at Anfield.

Salah announced on social media this week that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season in what came as shock news to the sporting world.

The Egyptian forward, who will go down as one of Liverpool's greatest ever players is already been linked with the MLS and Saudi Pro League as the season comes to a close.

As the club face Brentford at Anfield in the final clash of the season, Salah will have his chance to wave goodbye to supporters in what will be an emotional moment.

However, Carragher has admitted that he does not want to be a part of it due to greater ambitions.

"I have one final admission, however. While I will celebrate his career, I have no wish to be part of a grand Anfield farewell after the club’s final Premier League fixture in May," Carragher wrote for The Telegraph.

"Every Liverpool fan has something far better and more dramatic in mind.

“Knowing Salah’s mindset and competitive spirit, he will be setting his sights on the greatest of all possible goodbyes a week later: inspiring his team to victory in the Champions League final in Budapest. Do not bet against the perfect send-off."

Salah has secured several major trophies with the club, including the Premier League and Champions League, scoring 255 goals across 435 appearances to date.

With two trophies still to play for, he will be aiming to fight for his last piece of silverware for the club as Liverpool chase the FA Cup and Champions League.
