The result sees Newcastle qualify for the Champions League round of 16 play-offs.
Captain for the night Burn was named man-of-the-match by UEFA and said: "A very good performance. We struggled to handle them in the first 15 to 20 minutes.
"After that, we grew into the game, and it was a really mature performance from us. We learnt a lot from the previous Champions League campaign, and I think we had the better chances in that second half.
"It shows how good our squad is this season. The lads that came in performed really well. I thought Joe Willock and Jacob Ramsey were really good. Joe Willock really deserves that goal, as I know he’s had a tough time with injuries and getting back into the team.
"I think we missed a few little opportunities to perhaps get into those automatic spots, but it’s the first time this club has got into the knockout stages, and that’s something we’re very proud of."
Burn added, "I’m delighted (being named man-of-the-match). It was a tough injury, probably one of the worst I’ve had. I was a little anxious coming back in, but it was a great performance from the boys and hopefully we can build on that."
