Despite leading Liverpool to their historic 20th league title while registering the highest number of goal involvements in Europe, Salah is far away from being the favourite to lift the iconic award and likely won’t finish in the top three.
Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal are by far the favourites and while many place their bets on the pair, Brazilian international Casemiro has backed rival star Salah to go on and finally win the award.
“It’s very difficult, but in my opinion, for me, Salah.
“He is the best player with his impact on the game. He scores so much and assists so much.
“I think Liverpool don’t win this trophy, for example, the Champions League or another trophy because he dropped off a little in the second part of the season.
“But, for me, the most balanced player of the season is Salah.”
The Egyptian King currently sits fifth in the Ballon d’Or power rankings after racking up 56 goal contributions in 51 games across all competitions last season. Nine years after arriving at Anfield he is still delivering on all fronts but despite Casemiro’s backing he is unlikely to come close to the award.
