Arsenal slumped to a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League and will be hoping to bounce back on Wednesday night as they welcome Sporting to North London.
Arteta's men left it late to grab a 1-0 win at the Estadio Jose Alvalade last week thanks to a Kai Havertz finish and will now aim to defend that narrow lead in front of their home fans.
Can Arsenal bounce back?
Speaking first on the defeat to the Cherries, Arteta revealed how his side can climb back from their poor run of form which has put a real dent in the title race against Manchester City.
"The players need perspective on where they are in the Champions League and the Premier League.
"We need to embrace that, and the higher you are, the bumpier it gets. I am more demanding, and the line is thinner between being the best and the worst, and you have to cope with that.”
On whether some of his motivation is to prove doubters wrong: "The motivation is to give the people who deserve it what they are looking for. It's not for the rest.
"The energy is on these people because they are the ones who deserve it."
Arteta isn't thinking about Man City
As pressure on Arteta grows regarding the title race, the Spaniard admits he is focused purely on Europe and booking a place in the Semi Final against either Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
"The first task is qualifying for the semi-final of the Champions League. A big game. There's no space for the weekend."
On his message to home supporters heading into the clash: "No fear, pure fire. That's it. Pure fire is what I want to see from the players on the pitch. Go for it, because the opportunity is unbelievable.
How is Arteta feeling?
Finally, Arteta was asked how he himself is feeling ahead of the clash as pressure mounts in the business end of the campaign where Arsenal could secure a double of the league and Champions League.
"Let's confront it and go for it, putting absolutely everything into it."
"Fire. I am on fire. That's it! Nothing else. I am so driven. I have done so much to be in this position because I know what this club is worth.
"Now, this is beauty. I just see beauty and opportunity. I want to get it done for all the people who have been on this journey with us, because they deserve it. They have been unbelievable.
