The son of the legendary five-times Champions League winner Carlo, Davide is currently under a lot of pressure at his current club Botafogo after failing to protect a three-goal lead in his side's latest slip up in the Brazilian top-flight.
Rangers suffered a devastating 9-1 Champions League qualifying defeat to Club Brugge and currently sit 10th in the table with just 4 points from 5 games so far this season. Reports state that The Ibrox hierarchy have already been contacted by potential candidates regarding Martin's future and Davide is set to be top of their list.
However, amid speculation over replacing Martin in Glasgow, Ancelotti insists he is determined to fight on.
He said: "We still have 17 games left in the Brasileirão, and we have to start reacting today. We have to keep improving, playing well, and in the Brasileirão we have opportunities to finish the season strong.
"Now we don't have to think about the title, we have to think about today's game and react, which will be very important to demonstrate our unity at this moment."
With Davide currently under a lot of pressure in Brazil, replacing Martin with him has made a lot of fans scratch their heads as the club would be bringing in a manager who isn’t a huge improvement. Rangers face Hibernian F.C. in the Scottish League Cup this weekend in what will be a key game for Martin’s future.
