It's been confirmed for a while that Danilho Doekhi will be departing Union Berlin, and now the defender is ready to say his goodbyes.

Doekhi is set to leave the Bundesliga side on a free transfer, and according to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, he could play his final game against Augsburg this weekend.

The towering Dutch defender has been a revelation since joining the club from Vitesse in 2022, amassing over 130 appearances and scoring 16 times from centre-back.

The 27-year-old has also played 90 minutes in every Union game this term, with his talents being noticed in Germany and across the pond.

Leeds United have a long-standing interest in Doekhi, while Borussia Dortmund are another with admiration towards the no-nonsense defender.

In January, it was reported that Doekhi was very keen on a move to Elland Road to work under Daniel Farke, who tried to sign him for Norwich City years ago.

It will be interesting to see whether the Whites offer him a contract and manage to persuade him to join what is clearly a promising project in West Yorkshire.
