Premier League champions Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid are both said to be interested in signing Upamecano as a free agent.
Upamecano will be free to negotiate a ‘pre-agreement’ with foreign sides from January 1st if he doesn’t sign a new deal before then.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Upamecano addressed the situation, saying: “My agent is taking care of it. We will make the right decision. I am receiving good advice.
“I am focused on this season and my goals with the club and the national team. I don't have the headspace for it.”
