The teenage midfielder was named man-of-the-match in Bayern's Champions League defeat of Club Brugge.
Watching was Robben and the Dutchman told Bayern media: "Lennart Karl deserves the praise; he was superb. The boy has to enjoy it. The most important thing at that age is to always focus on the next game.
"You have to work on yourself every day and not think, 'I just played a great game, everything's wonderful'. You have to keep pushing in training and not be complacent with yourself."
Robben added, "That's the difference between why the really good players stay at the top for so long. Getting to that point is one thing, but staying at the top is something else."
