Ricky-Jade Jones, one of the fastest players in the world, is edging closer to making his debut for Bundesliga side St. Pauli.

The 22-year-old joined the German club on a free transfer from Peterborough United, where he spent six years and made 203 appearances, scoring 42 goals.

Jones burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old in October 2019 and impressed with 30 goals over the past two League One seasons, catching St. Pauli’s attention.

His start in Germany was disrupted by a shoulder injury during a pre-season friendly against Drochtersen, sidelining him for the first two months of the campaign.

During the recent international break, he focused on recovery and rejoined training. St. Pauli head coach Alexander Blessin praised his progress, saying, “He’s a bit ahead of schedule. He’s not far off; it looks very, very dynamic.”
