The Seagulls went unbeaten in April as they climbed closer to qualifying for Europe. Hurzeler’s side beat Burnley, rescued a point with a late goal against Spurs and crushed Chelsea with a 3-0 win.
Despite a loss to Newcastle over the weekend, Brighton are 8th and remain less than 3 points away from 6th place, a spot where they will fight against the likes of Brentford and Chelsea for.
Now, as per Florian Plettenburg, the German has signed a new long term contract despite interest from Bayer Leverkusen and a host of other top European sides.
“EXCLUSIVE | Fabian Hürzeler new contract - DONE DEAL ✔️
“All details of a new long-term contract with Brighton have now been agreed. Signing soon.
“Brighton are 100% satisfied and are planning the future with Hürzeler. 33 y/o will stay despite other approaches, including from Leverkusen.”
Hurzeler arrived at Brighton at the start of last season following a productive spell at Bundesliga side St Pauli and has since found great success with the club ever since.
Brighton seek European football for only the second time in the club's history and with 3 games remaining, they must pick up results against Leeds, Wolves and Manchester United if they are to return to Europe.
