And Freund confirmed the story, revealing to Sky Deutschland: "That period wasn't exactly quiet. A lot happened.
"We looked at several players, Antony was among them. There was also a discussion. But that's all in the past."
He added, "We are very happy with how the squad is currently set up. We know what that period was like, but in the end we came out of it well and are satisfied."
