Al-Ahli goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has slammed the African Football Federation (CAF) for stripping Senegal of this year's Africa Cup of Nations title.

CAF have ordered that Senegal give up their trophy and hand it to Morocco after defeating the host nation in the January final in extra-time.

Despite the ruling, it didn't stop the Senegal players from parading the trophy at the Stade de France on Saturday during the friendly match against Peru.

Former Chelsea keeper Mendy told reporters in the mixed zone after the friendly win: "We have a lack of understanding with this CAF body, we are used to it, unfortunately we have a body that moves slower than football. People talk about winners or losers, I think the only loser is football and Africa and the only one responsible is the CAF.

"Football as a whole in Africa is progressing faster than its governing bodies. African football deserves better leaders. It's up to those involved in football to take responsibility and do everything possible to ensure we have governing bodies as strong as our football."
