Tanzania coach Miguel Angel Gamondi has admitted that Morocco were simply superior after the Taifa Stars were eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Having qualified for the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams, the Taifa Stars faced the host nation, the Atlas Lions.

Their tournament ended following a 1-0 defeat, with Brahim Diaz scoring the decisive goal.

Despite the disappointing exit, Gamondi acknowledged Morocco’s quality but expressed pride in how his team performed on the continental stage.

"I am so proud of what my team produced. So proud of my players, both in their attitude and tactically, " he said after the game.

"They showed that the gap between Morocco and us is not as big as people think. We will come back stronger; I am convinced of that.”
