Body language expert Darren Stanton has suggested that Tottenham boss Thomas Frank was horrified after the Arsenal cup incident.

Spurs fell to defeat at Bournemouth and have now won just one of their last six Premier League matches. To rub salt in their wounds, Frank was spotted drinking out of an Arsenal cup before the game, which sparked conversation online.

Frank said he didn’t notice the cup and said it would be really stupid for him to do such a thing. Now, body language expert Stanton has spoken to OLBG about how Frank was more upset than many people realize.

“Thomas Frank showed signs of underlying internal emotions of anger and shame, and worry,” Stanton told OLBG. “He is mortified about what has happened.

“He's worried about his position as Tottenham Hotspur manager from the outset of the press conference.

“The lines on his forehead, what we call furrow lines, is a signal of genuine worry. We also see his eyebrows pull together and there are two lines above his nose, which is a micro-expression of anger.

“Frank is basically fed up. Whether that’s because he feels he’s been put in a situation or he’s ended up in this place because things haven’t gone the way he had hoped, there’s clearly a lot of anxiety in addition to the shame and anger.”

Tottenham are currently 14th in the table with seven wins from their 21 games as pressure grows on Frank, who will not be helped by the cup incident which may haunt him for the rest of his time in North London.
