The Germany international, who has Burkinabe roots, was among the scorers as RB Leipzig claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory on Sunday.
"Assan had two good chances in the first half. He's an unbelievable talent. He's nice because he never assumes that he's going to score and takes responsibility on the pitch," Werner told the club website.
"The opposition didn't make it easy for us, since they played very defensively. We did have chances, but we should've taken them in the first half. Still, we defended very well and were solid in terms of our structure.
"It's a great feeling to be back and get three points after the loss to Hoffenheim. It shows that, as a team, we can work with a lot of focus when we don't have a lot of time to train."
The win keeps Leipzig firmly in the title race, lifting them to second place in the league table with 25 points from 11 matches. Ouedraogo’s rise continues to be one of the most exciting developments of their season so far.
