The England U18 captain played an hour in yesterday's friendly win against Dagenham & Redbridge.
He told whufc.com: “I think the summer’s gone really well so far.
“We’ve been back for three weeks now, and I was pleased with how it went in Austria, and then obviously getting another 60 against Dagenham is really positive.
“It was good to get another run out, and I feel like I played well, particularly at the start of the second half. I think I’m in a good place at the moment - I’ve grown a lot physically over recent months and years - and I’m at the stage now where I think I’m ready for the first team.
“I loved seeing George (Earthy) and Kaelan (Casey) get their debuts in the Premier League last year. I thought I was a bit unlucky not to get mine, but I think I’m in a good position now to get those opportunities going forward, especially with a new Head Coach having come in.”
