Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is reportedly determined not to return to action until fully fit following a knee injury, potentially ruling him out of Sunday’s La Liga clash with Levante.

The 27-year-old made an early return as a substitute in the 3-2 Supercopa de Espana final loss to Barcelona but does not want to risk aggravating his injury.

According to L’Equipe, he is “probably out” against Levante and “uncertain” for the following Champions League match against Monaco, aiming to play only when completely free of discomfort.

Mbappe had an MRI on December 31 but returned just eleven days later. While he has no regrets about playing in the Supercopa, he is prioritising fitness ahead of a crucial spring and the World Cup.
