Trafford was signed by City last summer for £27 million from Burnley after fending off interest from Newcastle United.
The England international thought he would be the first choice at the Etihad Stadium until arguably one of the world's best goalkeepers, Gianluigi Donnarumma, was signed from PSG.
Donnarumma's arrival saw Trafford restricted to just 11 starts across all competitions, including only four appearances in the Premier League, as Pep Guardiola preferred the Italian superstar.
The 23-year-old isn't happy about his current situation, and according to TEAMtalk, has made it clear he doesn't want to play second fiddle for another season.
After almost capturing him before the Cityzens swooped in, Newcastle are said to be "leading" contenders for his signature, but Tottenham, Chelsea, and Aston Villa are all keeping tabs on his situation.
City are reportedly demanding offers north of £40 million for the Englishman to land a profit on what they paid a year ago, allowing Newcastle to land their number one target.
