The priority is a replacement for the departing Casemiro, as he said his final goodbyes to the Old Trafford crowd during their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
Elliot Anderson has been suggested as a possible midfield capture, but the Englishman will cost north of £100 million, and Ian Wright has said that they should sign Ibrahim Sangare instead.
“He has got that… You know something? When I watched him, I thought to myself, obviously, maybe some of the technical, but like he’s, physicality," Wright said on the Stick to Football podcast.
“That’s the kind of player, you know, with Utd.
“You could get him in at Utd, with the quality around him, you just do that.
“Just do that physical stuff. I think that’s the kind of profile.”
Sangare has been indispensable to Forest this term, and particularly important in their successful battle to avoid relegation, offering tenacity and ball-winning qualities in the middle of the park.
